The Clockwork Coroner

For nearly seven years, readers have been able to experience the adventures of Junius Price and Archibald “Archie” McNittle in print.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce that both books in the Detectives For Hire series are now available as audiobooks.

The Murder of Crowe and The Clockwork Coroner are now available on Google Play Books and Spotify, with additional retailers and library systems to follow through distribution.

This announcement means more to me than simply adding another format.

It represents persistence.

Many of you may remember that my original audiobook journey ended with a disappointing rejection. After investing countless hours creating an AI-narrated audiobook, I learned that Audible’s platform wasn’t accepting the production method I had used.

That could have been the end of the story.

Instead, it became the beginning of another investigation.

Over the following months, I researched distribution requirements, studied platform documentation, compared metadata standards, learned about EPUB workflows, Google Play’s digital voice narration, LPF audio packages, and Voices by INaudio. Every new platform seemed to have its own rules and technical requirements.

Slowly, piece by piece, the puzzle came together.

Today that work has paid off.

Both Detectives For Hire novels can now be enjoyed by readers who prefer listening while commuting, exercising, relaxing at home, or who simply enjoy audiobooks. Equally important, this opens the series to readers who benefit from audio because of dyslexia, visual impairments, or other accessibility needs.

That has always been my real goal.

Yes, every sale helps support an independent author.

But making these stories accessible to more people has always mattered more than chasing another revenue stream.

I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who encouraged me throughout this journey—those who pre-ordered books, attended signings, purchased Founders Editions, shared social media posts, or simply asked how things were going.

Your encouragement kept me moving forward.

This isn’t the end of the Detectives For Hire story.

It’s simply another chapter.
